We the undersigned, having looked at the evidence of
suffering caused to animals in travelling circuses and
noted that animals cannot be provided with appropriate
accommodation for good health and welfare; noting that
animals in circuses are subjected to excessively long
hours shut in their transporters; noting that animals in
travelling circuses are forced to travel whilst sick,
injured, pregnant and must give birth on the road; we
believe that given the circumstances of moving constantly,
it is inevitable that travelling circuses cause much
suffering to the animals they own, and we therefore urge
the Government of Greece to end the use of animals in
travelling circuses throughout Greece, and to lobby at
European Union level for an EU-wide ban on animal
circuses.
